The City of Northfield Fire Department is a combination fire department that provides fire protection to the citizens of Northfield. The Fire Department consists of the Northfield City Volunteer Fire Company # 1 chartered in 1924, and Career Personnel. The Fire Department is predominantly Volunteer Personnel that are supplemented by five (5) full time Firefighter/EMT-B’s. The Career Department Personnel are members of the International Association of Firefighters # 2364. Together the Fire Department is 37 members strong.
