RE:         Sutton Woods Tree Trimming by the Department of Public Works

Dear Resident,

Please accept this letter as notification that the Department of Public Works (DPW) for the City of Northfield will be performing some tree trimming maintenance work on the above referenced streets in time period between January 13th, 2025 and March 31st, 2025. The purpose of this letter is to advise you of the maintenance work to the trees on the above referenced streets and to invite you to have the trees in front of your house professionally trimmed, should you prefer same, prior to the commencement of work by the DPW. The City is cognizant of the fact that some residents may prefer to have the trees in front of their properties professionally maintained as opposed to trimmed by the DPW. We are affording you that opportunity in advance of the commencement of work.

The purpose of this work is to allow the safe passage of larger vehicles such as fire trucks and trash trucks. The City is in receipt of complaints that vehicles of that size are finding it difficult to navigate the neighborhood with the trees having now matured. The DPW trimming will be conducted on the street side only of the above referenced streets.  Trimming will be completed to a height of approximately 14 feet, again to allow the safe passage of emergency vehicles and public utility vehicles and the like.

In the event you intend to have the trees in front of your house professionally trimmed, please immediately notify me, Qwin Vitale, the Superintendent of Public Works, of your intention to do so together with the dates for same which must precede the DPW work dates provided above. Otherwise, the DPW will proceed as set forth herein, on the dates set forth herein.  I can be contacted at 609-641-7610 Ext. 201.
