The next scheduled household renovation debris collection will be in fall 2025.

This program is not open to contractors; contractors doing work on residential homes are responsible for removing and disposing of construction debris and/or trade waste at their expense.

Residents are asked to adhere to the following guidelines: • Separate these items from your regular trash • Each household will have a 3 item or can limit (in addition to your regular trash) • Cans cannot be larger than 40 gallons; 50 pound weight limit for cans or individual items • No hazardous materials, such as paint, solvents, pool chemicals, flammable liquids, etc. • Broken glass or items with sharp or jagged edges shall be placed in a secure container to facilitate safe loading If you have questions or concerns please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 641-2832 x 125.

SPRING STREET SWEEPING APRIL 28TH - MAY 9TH
The City of Northfield will be conducting street-sweeping services from April 28th through May 9th.

Please be advised that the operation will commence at 7:00am, and that residents will be required to remove their vehicles from the side of the street on which sweeping services are being performed.

Please remember to move all vehicles, trailers, boats, etc., from affected areas before work is performed. This is the number one reason that areas are missed and or skipped, and your assistance is appreciated.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

WHERE DO YOUR TAX DOLLARS GO?
In NJ, your property tax bill pays for local government, school and county expenses. The City of Northfield collects your property taxes, and distributes most of this money to the other entities. So where exactly does your money go? Please see the chart attached. Roughly 28 cents of every dollar is retained by the City of Northfield for the purpose of providing all municipal services, including public safety, and the other 72 cents is sent to the local and regional schools, and to Atlantic County government, to fund the services they provide.
